Alliances

An alliance is a formal pact between commanders — shared identity on the map, mutual sight in fog of war, and a social frame for large-scale strategy.

What alliances offer
- Shared visibility — allied fleets and bases contribute to fog-of-war sight like your own clan.
- Coordination — a named group with tag, description, and member list.
- Invitations and inbox — leaders invite by username; invites expire if ignored.
- Leadership tools — the alliance leader can transfer leadership, remove inactive members, or dissolve the group when rules allow.
Alliances are player organisations, separate from AI factions or freeport NPCs.
Starting or joining
Create: choose name, short tag, and optional description. You become leader of a new alliance.
Join: accept an invitation from messages/inbox before it expires.
Leave: any member can leave; leaders face extra rules if members remain — read the confirmation dialog.
Browse the alliance list tab to scout existing powers before you found your own.
Etiquette
- Allies expect honest communication — abandoning them in war damages your reputation beyond the game UI.
- Alliance sight does not stop friendly fire rules in every context — confirm ROE with your leader.
- One alliance at a time per commander.
Combine alliances with diplomacy messages and freeport bar contacts for a full foreign policy.
