Tips & Strategy
Early game
- Secure energy and basic production before luxury buildings.
- Stabilize economy and supply population (water, food, housing) before expanding far.
- Explore nearby systems before colonising distant worlds.
- Read battle reports even when you win — learn what worked.
Economy
- Stock fuel before long fleet movements — fleets burn fuel every hour, even when idle.
- Diversify resources; single-resource bases collapse when prices shift.
- Use the freeport for deals you cannot get at home.
- Recycler only for emergencies — slow, risky, not a trade replacement.
Mid game
- Coordinate research with your next building tier — do not idle labs.
- Maintain one defensive fleet at HQ; upgrade orbital defense (up to 20 cannons per location).
- Start civil harbor lines before population growth stalls.
- Use interstellar transport to feed new maps; colony ships only when you can hold the target.
- Discover the freeport early; bring an Imperator when you want the bar and NPC deals.
- Consider an alliance for shared fog-of-war sight on busy borders.
- Archaeology for artifacts; protect your dig ship — it can be attacked.
General
- Check messages and reports daily.
- Use shortcuts from Setup if you open the same panels often.
- During major updates in public beta, progress may reset — experiment freely and learn.
There is no perfect build order. Adapt to your map, neighbours, and play style.
