Fog of War

The galaxy map is not fully transparent. Fog of war hides what you have not yet observed — enemy movements, foreign bases in the shadows, and details of locations outside your reach.
What you see
- Your own colonies, fleets, and allies appear clearly — they also extend your vision around them.
- Allied commanders (alliance or clan) share sight like friends on the map — you see their fleets and bases within their visibility.
- Neutral and foreign players are hidden until something friendly brings their assets into view.
- Location bodies (planets, moons, stations) remain visible as landmarks once the map is generated — but names, orbit details, cannons, and foreign fleets fade in and out with visibility.
How to reveal more
- Keep fleets and scouts near borders you care about.
- Discover places by moving units into range — once the freeport hub is discovered, it stays on your intel list even when fog rolls back over the sector.
- Use the minimap in the main menu for a strategic overview and quick jumps to areas you already control.
Why it matters
Fog is not just atmosphere — it is information warfare. A quiet border may hide a buildup. Patrolling your space and coordinating with allies prevents nasty surprises.
Before you plan an attack or a trade run, ask: can I actually see that sector right now?
